Coach Rob will be working as fast as he can to determine the Varsity team this upcoming season based on work ethic, conditioning, flexibility, stunting, jumping, motion techinque in cheer and dance, enthusiasm & showmanship, personality & performance as well as tumbling. Please have a positive and fun demeanor, show eagerness & desire to learn/improve, and be as hard working and as confident as you can as he will be observing each of these attributes during this time period to help determine the best possible competitive varsity cheerleading team.
GOAL: To pick the best and most competitive cheerleading team including alternates, finish the bulk of the routine before the first day of school and hopefully finish the entire routine before Labor Day Weekend. Please make your attendance a priority at every practice!
Please email coach Rob at firstname.lastname@example.org so he has your email in his contacts and if you need any additional information.
Please make sure your physical examinations are up to date and will carry you through the entire season!!!
Make your appointments to have a physical examination, register online (see below), and have a copy of your physical handy on the first day of practice so you can participate and start on time!
If you are actively attending conditioning sessions, please give your physical forms to Mr. Bradley or leave them on his desk in his office. Try to do this before the August 18th start date. If not, pleaes bring your physical forms in to Mr. Bradley, the trainer, or the nurse when cheerleading begins on August 18th, but the earlier you bring them in the better.
Please fully register for cheerleading on the new online website at http://MA.8to18.com/whittiertech prior to the August 18th start date! Click "registration" and then create an account. Once you've logged in, click the home screen icon, then click on "begin registration" to complete your athlete information in to the database.
TENTATIVE PRACTICE DAYS!
Once school is in session, tentative practices days for the month of September will be Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Full team attendance & commitment is a priority. In the month of October, please do your best to block of Fridays as we will want to schedule practices on those days for that month as major competitions in November will be right around the corner. Saturdays we will practice either before or after games depending on the game schedule. Again, this is only tentative.
In the past, the varsity cheerleading team has had practices 5 days a week usually after school including games once a week. Depending on team commitment/attendance, how well the team progresses, how advanced they become, etc., coach Rob may only require 4 practice days a week including games with the cheerleaders. This season, let's shoot for 4 practice days a week and make the most of our time during games & Saturday practices together. Varsity Football Game schedule is listed below as varsity cheerleaders must be present at games. Please refer to the Football page for more information: http://MA.8to18.com/whittiertech/activities/football/b
