In an exhibition meet against Malden, the Tanners took their first loss of the season 92-91.
First place finishers include Captain Kirsten Currie (Essex Tech) in the 500 freestyle with a State qualifying time of 5:39.41, and the 200 freestyle relay of Captain Anthony Minichillo, Stephanie McLean (Essex Tech), Lily Bromberger, and Captain William Connolly (Essex Tech) with a time of 1:51.13.
Within five points of Malden across nine of the twelve events, the meet was decided by one point during the final event - the 400 freestyle relay, making this the tightest meet the Tanners had competed in this season. Although members of two different divisions, the NEC North and NEC South respectively, Malden and Peabody showed tremendous strength returning to the pool after their winter breaks.
The Tanners' next opponent is Sommerville, which will take place at the Peabody home pool (Torigian YMCA) on 1/10/19.
